SafeMa is a postgraduate course on Advanced Midwifery Practice that consists of eight modules that can be taught as short courses:

1. Becoming a midwifery educator
2. Evidence-based midwifery
3. Advanced clinical skills in midwifery
4. Patient safety in midwifery practice
5. Midwifery in the community
6. Methods in health research
7. Management of health projects and programmes
8. Women’s Health and Human Rights

The designed course will be fully aligned with ICM Global Standards for Midwifery Education and focus on specific learning objectives that respond to identified skills shortages. Its methodology will promote clinical and research skills and experiential, hands-on learning. The course will be at the core of the SafeMa Hubs: model teaching, research and pedagogic resource centers in midwifery, established in each partner university
